Creating your Dream Master Bedroom

Planning a Master Bedroom

We are building an extension! Not just any house extension. It is going to be the grand master of all house extensions as it will be the floor space for our open plan kitchen, dining and living room as well as the master bedroom complete with en-suite. The extension will double the footprint for our home and I can’t wait to start planning the interior. The room I am most excited about designing though is the master bedroom. Here are all my essentials that will create my dream master bedroom.

King Size Bed

We’ve had the same bed now for 5 years and I can’t wait to upgrade it to something new. I’m thinking one of those grey plush headboards and space underneath to store things. We also desperately need a new mattress which I cannot wait to purchase! I’m ready to sleep on a fluffy cloud again, my back is in bits!

Everywhere I have lived previously I haven’t had space for a wardrobe in the bedroom! I’ve either had to use clothing rails or store my clothes in a separate room. I’ve already planned out my dream wardrobe unit. It’s got to be modern, stylish and have at least one mirrored door. I’ve found some amazing deals on wardrobes at Latest Deals. I love that you can find quality items at reasonable prices.

Dressing Table

I already have a bespoke dressing table but it definitely needs a fresh coat of paint to spruce it up. I had a chair made to match but it’s looking a bit worse for wear now so I’d love to find a chair in a matching fabric to the headboard of the bed.

Feature Wall

I used to have a feature wall when I lived at home with my parents and I loved it. I’d love to do the same in the new master bedroom either by painting the wall behind the bed a different colour or by using wallpaper to create a stand out feature wall.

Bedside Tables

Another item I’ve never owned new are bedside tables. I’ve always been given hand me downs which is great when you don’t want to splurge money. I’d love something minimalistic as more often than not I just dump things on the bedside tables rather than putting them away. I want something simple just to house a bedside lamp and maybe a few books as well as somewhere to charge my phone at night.

If you were planning your dream master bedroom what would be the one thing the room would have to have?
