Time to Plan a Wedding

Wedding Fayre at The King Arthur, Gower

Myself and Gavin have been engaged for a whole year! This time last year we were in Walt Disney World when Gavin got down on one knee and brought me a McDonald’s breakfast in bed along with an engagement ring! The proposal couldn’t have been more fitting for us as a couple. (Double Sausage and Egg McMuffin Meal in case you were wondering).

I would have started wedding planning much sooner than now but a little something, or someone should I say, happened instead. I’m now ready to throw myself into the world of wedding fayres, dress shopping and invite making.

I’ve mentally planned my wedding a million times over in my head and on multiple secret Pinterest boards, but now it’s come down to it I don’t really know where to start.

If you had asked me as a child about my wedding it would have involved a huge puffy dress and walking down the aisle to ‘Here comes the bride’ at my local church. Over the years my vision of my dream wedding has changed dramatically. Just last year I was considering a wedding abroad or even eloping off to Vegas.

There’s just so much to think about when it comes to planning a wedding and if you don’t have a clear vision of how you see the day panning out then the enormity of it can be quite overwhelming.

Recently I’ve been getting some inspiration from confetti.co.uk. They have everything on their website from Venues and Bridal Wear to Photographers and Florists. Just select what area you are looking in and you can see a whole list of wedding suppliers and what they offer.

My dream wedding now would be somewhere rustic but still elegant, I’m thinking something along the lines of Oldwalls Gower. I’ve decided against a church wedding and want something a bit more informal.

The dress has to have lace and sleeves and not be too low cut.

I see lots of dancing, my dancing shoe of choice will be some blinged up converse. Ain’t nobody got time for dancing in heels at a wedding.

If we opt for a winter wedding you can bet me and my bridesmaids will be rocking some customised leather jackets.

I want my first dance to be with my husband and my son.

The champagne will be flowing and the guests will be merry.

The evening guests will enjoy pizza and burgers, because who doesn’t love something a bit greasy after copious amounts of booze.

A photo booth is a must along with a live band!

I want our wedding to be a true reflection of who we are as a couple.

Nothing too serious and just the right amount of quirky.

I’m really excited to start the mammoth task that is wedding planning.

We are going to view some venues at the end of the month and I’d love to have our wedding venue booked before the year is out. I’m aiming for a 2020 Summer or Winter wedding.
