Feeling Good After Having a Baby

Having a baby completely changes your world. Not only do you have to adjust to life with a newborn you also have to adjust to your postpartum body. Things aren’t going to be like they were before. Seeing your body differently is hard to deal with but there are a few things you can do to make yourself feel better about it and I’m definitely not talking about going to the gym.

Pamper Yourself

When you find yourself 5 minutes, just before you go to bed, give your face a cleanse.  I’m currently using the Lacura Hot Cloth Cleanser from Aldi. It’s just £3.99 and is the perfect way to give your skin that fresh feeling after a long day.

Taking Time Out

Asking someone to come over for half an hour so you can have a bath really makes the world of difference. Just being able to switch off and soak in the tub is a great way to unwind if you’ve been having a hard day. Make the most of those relatives that want to come over and cuddle the baby.

Buy Something New

Everyone buys things for the baby but what about you? You deserve a treat too. Treating yourself to some new matching lingerie is a great pick me up if you aren’t feeling great about yourself. Check out Simply Be’s range of lingerie here. They have an amazing selection of lingerie that will give you that boost of confidence you need.

A Weekend Away

If you get the opportunity a few days away can really help clear your head and boost your mood. I’ve already been on a few weekends away with the baby and just going out for walks somewhere new was really refreshing. You don’t need to go far but the quality time you get is well worth it.

Indulge

Want a takeaway? Get it. Need some chocolate? Eat it. Forget the rush to snap back to your old self and indulge in what you like. Those 3 am night feeds are a killer so having some of your favourite snacks or chocolate to hand make it all a bit easier.

What’s one thing that makes you feel better about yourself after you’ve had a hard day?
