Escape the Room games have grown greatly in popularity over the last year. They’ve sprung up all over the country and I can see why. You are given a scenario and 1 hour to escape the room. Along the way you have to solve puzzles and use your logic to escape in time. I’ve done 2 escape the room games before, one in Swansea and one in New York and I absolutely loved them. On Monday evening I visited Escape Rooms Cardiff with some of the welsh blogging babes to take on ‘The Tomb’.
Escape Rooms Cardiff
There are 3 different room scenarios to choose from at Escape Rooms Cardiff, there is The Tomb, Finding Sherlock and The Heist. Each room has different difficulty levels so if you’ve done a few escape the room games before you can always opt for something more challenging. Myself, Kay, Charlee and Holly decided to take on The Tomb which has the lowest difficulty level.
The Tomb is an egyptian themed room and is set in the dark! I hadn’t done an escape the room game in the dark before and it definitely made it more fun. Not only did we have to solve all the puzzles to escape we also had to continually wind up our torches or we would have been in the pitch black. Throughout the game at any point you can ask for clues and we asked for a few along the way. We eventually managed to escape The Tomb with just over 3 minutes to spare.
Escape Rooms Cardiff are the first escape room games I have been to with a bonus round. They have created their own version of The Crystal Maze dome. I literally screamed in excitement when I saw it. You have to enter the bunker and catch foil that is blown around and whoever catches the most gets put onto a leaderboard. Unfortunately we were epically awful at it and didn’t get a high score.
Escape Rooms Cardiff is definitely the most high-tech of the games I have done. There are lots of mechanics involved which made the games even more fun and challenging. The games are extremely well thought out from start to finish and I was really impressed by the overall presentation of the room. I would definitely go to Escape Rooms Cardiff again. I really want to take on The Heist next which is their most challenging room.
