The beauty industry is constantly evolving and growing. The public are becoming more aware of what really goes into making some of their beloved products and are now favouring brands that are cruelty free and vegan friendly. It still amazes me that with the technological advances we have that some brands still feel the need to test on animals. I won’t go on and bash all the brands as that calls for another post entirely. Today I’m going to shine a light on some of my favourite beauty brands that are not just cruelty free but also pride themselves on being vegan friendly.
Shea Moisture are a haircare brand that specialise in Black and Asian hair shampoos and conditioners. Since their legacy began in 1912 they have vastly expanded the brand. Shea Moisture’s range now includes makeup, skincare and bath products. Their products use only the best ingredients and don’t contain any harmful chemicals such as parabens. I’ve used Shea Moisture’s 10 in 1 Renewal System Hair Masque multiple times now and it has become a firm favourite of mine. It’s the perfect product for putting life back into dull and damaged hair. The superfruit complex includes Marula Oil and Biotin which help give hair that revived feeling. Shea Moisture have launched a range of Shea Butter Lipsticks and there is a nude shade that I have to get my hands on. Everyone knows I’m a sucker for a good nude lipstick.
Embryolisse is a skincare brand that was founded in Paris in 1950 by a dermatologist. I love brands that have a science behind them and you can clearly see the passion behind Embryolisse. Their most popular product is the award winning Lait-Creme Concentre which is a rich moisturizing lotion. The Lait-Creme Concentre can be used for a multitude of purposes including as a primer, moisturiser and make-up remover. I don’t know of any other product that contains such versatile properties at such good value for money. Embryolisse is a very new brand to me but one I’m really interested to try more from. Embryolisse products can be found on ASOS too!

The Jojoba company was founded in 2008 by a father and daughter who are passionate about the jojoba plant. The company is 100% family owned and the jojoba plants are grown on their farm in Australia. I love that this small family run business has now expanded to the global market. The entire range from the Jojoba company uses jojoba oil as it’s main ingredient. From just one main ingredient they have created a broad range of skincare products which include cleansers, moisturisers and face masks to name a few. The jojoba company pride themselves on creating products that are as natural and pure as possible.
Lord and Berry
Lord and Berry are a makeup brand that date back to 1992. The brand is relatively new in terms of beauty companies but they are extremely well established. Lord and Berry wanted to put style and fashion back into makeup and their main goal is to empower women. I’ve used Lord and Berry products for a few years now and their pencil eyeliners and lipliners are some of my favourites. A new product of theirs is the Perfecto Liquid Eyeliner which is a thick graphic eyeliner. I definitely want to try this out soon. Lord and Berry are currently stocked on ASOS so check them out next time you are ASOS hauling.
I was only very recently introduced to Know Cosmetics, a beauty brand founded in Canada. Know Cosmetics currently have a small range of 5 products and they are the ‘secret weapon to professional results’. I recently tried the ‘No Thin Lips‘ product which is a lip plumping gloss. The gloss tingles on the lips and plumps and volumizes them. Know Cosmetics other products include a lipstick sealer, a concealer for under eyes and a 4 in 1 eyebrow shaping kit.
All of the brands mentioned are Cruelty Free and Vegan friendly. If you’ve tried any of the brands or if there are some you had never heard of before today let me know by leaving a comment below.
