I am officially the world’s worst Christmas shopper. I normally opt to give everyone vouchers as I’m terrible at deciding what to buy people and I often get side tracked and end up looking for presents for myself but this Christmas it’s different. Fforestfach Retail Parc in Swansea challenged me to the #XmasGiftChallenge where I had to buy presents for 5 different people with a budget of £200 and I only had 4 hours to do it! I chose to buy for my Mum, Dad, Boyfriend, Best Friend and of course, myself!
Fforestfach Retail Parc is very close to where I live so it’s convenient to go there to do my shopping. They have everything from fashion and home to beauty and food and drink, some of their stores include River Island, H&M, M&S and Next. It really is your one stop destination for all your shopping.
First up on my shopping list was Mum. Now she’s one of those mothers that no matter how many times you ask her what she wants for Christmas she always says that she doesn’t want anything. I decided to have a look around in Home Sense for some inspiration and immediately spotted some Neom Candles. Having recently received my first Neom candle I knew she would love it. I picked up the Neom Rose and Neroli candle and as Home Sense is the land of amazing deals I had the candle for just £16.99 when the RRP was £30! I wanted to get her something else to go with the candle and opted for a Twinnings Tea Tin Trio gift set priced at £12 from Boots.
Next on the list was Dad, the man who already has everything and generally is just happy with a bottle of Jack Daniels. Over Christmas Boots have 3 for 2 mix and match on gift sets so I decided to get my Dad a Dove Men’s gift set as you can’t really go wrong with smellies, the gift set was priced at £15. I decided to head to Next for some more inspiration and spotted a Jack Daniels T-Shirt and seeing as he normally gets a bottle of Jack Daniels I thought this was perfect and it was £14!
My boyfriend Gavin came shopping with me so he picked out some items for himself. He opted for a Suit Jacket (£18) and Cable Knit Jumper (£22) from Next. I wanted to get him something as a surprise as well so when he went to put the bags in the car I dashed to Home Sense and bought this giant wine glass that holds an entire bottle of wine which was only £5.99.
Next up was my Bestie and this was the easiest gift to buy by far! I headed straight to New Look and I knew exactly what I wanted to get. I picked up this absolutely gorgeous Black Faux Leather Snakeskin effect backpack which is right up her street which was £22.99. I also knew I wanted to get her pyjamas and when I spotted the Elf Movie pyjamas I knew they were the one and they were priced at £19.99. On the way to the till I also spotted a rose gold potted plant and I couldn’t resist getting that as well and that was £6.99.
And last but certainly not least… myself. I didn’t really go with any ideas of what I wanted so was just browsing when I spotted Harry Potter Trivial Pursuit in Home Sense. I do love Harry Potter and I love playing games so couldn’t not pick it up for £8.99. I also picked up some card games from M&S as we always throw a New Years Eve party at our house and I thought they would be perfect for the evening and even better they were on offer 3 for 2 so they only cost me £10. Finally for myself I picked up my favourite Nandos sauces in a gift set from Boots, as I had already bought 2 other items from the 3 for 2 my Nandos sauces were completely free!
In total I spent £172.94! I’m actually amazed at how much I got for my money and I even completed the task with 10 minutes to spare!
