On Thursday I visited the Lush store in Swansea for an exclusive Bloggers event to try out all the Autumn / Winter products for 2016. This is the first Bloggers event that the Swansea store have put on so I was excited to see what they had planned for us. I attended the event with Lottie, Charlotte, Holly and Ffion as well as getting to meet Leanne and Katie for the first time.
I normally attend the Lush blogging events at the Cardiff store but it was a nice change going to my local store instead, there were a lot less bloggers there so it was much easier to get involved and chat to the staff about the new releases. The main focus of the event was how Lush products are now becoming more preservative free and how they want to push that more throughout all their products. We were introduced to Lush’s shower jellies and got the opportunity to smell all the different scents they had. When it comes to scent I’m normally drawn to something strong and sweet or fruity, for example Lush’s Snow Fairy is a scent that I am always drawn back to. We got to see the large Santa’s Belly and Snowman Jellies and we were challenged to slap it as hard as we could and watch it wobble.
We then moved to the back of the store and got shown the Christmas Roulades and how to effectively use them to leave your skin feeling silky smooth. After that came my favourite part of every Lush event and that was testing all the bath bombs! We got to see some amazing bath bombs in action including Never Mind The Ballistics, Stardust and Lord of Misrule. We were then introduced to the concept of the Lush Cocktail where you combine 2 Lush products to create a dark murky almost black bath. Why has no-one told me about this before!? It was pretty damn epic and I can’t wait to give it a go soon. Something I’ve never been able to do at the Lush Cardiff events was to make my own bubble bar as it is always so busy but finally I got the chance in the Swansea store. We attempted to create the Ruby Red Slippers Bubble Bar, unfortunately some of them didn’t quite end up looking quite like a shoe. It was so much fun to create our own product and what truly amazed me was just how few ingredients the product needed! Making my own Bubble Bar was definitely the highlight of my night!
After making our bubble bars we were free to look around, snap some photos and most importantly shop. I went a bit more wild than I normally go and ended up spending about £50. All the products I bought were ones I haven’t tried before, I picked up the Lord of Misrule Bath Bomb, Vanishing Cream Moisturiser, Cupcake Face Mask and the Snow Fairy Body Conditioner. Lush always give us a goodie bag and the goodie bag included the Northern Lights Bath Bomb, Boo Bath Melt, Shooting Stars Soap and Charity Pot hand lotion as well as getting to take home the Ruby Red Slipper we made. My bag was overflowing with goodies!
A massive thank you to all the staff at Lush who really did an amazing job for their first event and a huge shoutout to Urika my favourite Lush PR Girl!!
