Autumn Fashion Trends and Wishlist

Autumn Fashion Trends and Wishlist

There’s just something about Autumn fashion that I find way more appealing than Summer fashion. It’s definitely something to do with the ability to layer an outfit, the dark colours that match my heart and the fact that tights are my best friend (I can’t shop in Primark without adding tights to my basket), so I’ve put together a list of all the items I am loving right now.

Pinafore Dresses

I became obsessed with pinafore dresses last season and I am so glad the trend is still going strong and they are in fashion this year. I already have a few pinny dresses in my collection but there’s definitely no harm in adding a few more. I absolutely love cord texture and this navy deep v neck dress from Warehouse ticks all the boxes for me this season. The beauty of pinafore dresses is that you can alternate the style of top you wear underneath them to create a whole new look. Another popular material this year is velvet and this pinafore dress in burgundy from Dorothy Perkins makes use of the velvet material perfectly.

Faux Fur

There’s just something about a faux fur coat that really appeals to me. I remember when I was younger my aunt used to have a really dark brown faux fur coat and I was obsessed with it. I’ve never actually owned one as I’m not 100% sure it’s a style I can pull off but this Winter I’m definitely going to give it a go. I’ve spotted this amazing brown faux fur coat in New Look and it looks so warm and snuggly. I think as it is just one solid colour and not an animal print it would be easier to pull off on a daily basis and won’t attract too much attention.

Rose Gold

Rose gold still seems to be going strong as a trend and I can see why. When it comes to jewellery I now steer towards more dainty pieces that just add that extra something to an outfit without being brash or bold. The mix of rose gold and dainty jewellery is something I am currently a sucker for. I recently received this gorgeous three circles necklace in rose gold from Happiness Boutique. It’s such a simple piece that it goes with everything but just adds that extra detail to an outfit.

Embroidery

Embroidered accessories are currently bang on trend and I am completely loving it. I don’t currently own anything embroidered but the gorgeous detailing can turn something plain into a true statement piece. I’ve found black embroidered boots and a black embroidered bag both in New Look that I love. They aren’t something I would wear together as I think that would be a bit overkill but separately to give a bit of ‘wow’ factor to an outfit they are amazing!

Animal Print

I do love a bit of animal print and I normally only wear it during the Autumn and Winter months. Adding animal print to an outfit definitely adds a bit of fun and a lot of sass. I’ve currently got my eye on a grey animal print longline coat from New Look. I think this would be perfect for evenings out over some skinny jeans, boots and a blouse or shirt. Animal print works on everything from dresses to shoes to bags and this leopard print backpack from New Look is no exception. I love that it looks really smart with the gold detailing but then the leopard print adds that bit of fun and edge to it.
