The nights are getting lighter, the weather is getting warmer and I am dreaming of tropical destinations and plenty of cocktails. Every year since I was 18 I’ve been going on a girls’ holiday and sadly this year I don’t think it’s going to happen. Everyone is growing up and buying houses and money is tighter than it used to be now that bills and mortgages are a monthly occurrence. There’s nothing to stop me dreaming of a girls holiday so I’ve compiled a list of Holiday Essentials that everyone needs on a holiday abroad.
I am a sucker for stocking up on magazines and books in the airport. I normally pack at least 5 books in my suitcase but I always end up spotting more at the airport that I really like the sound of and add some more to my holiday reading collection.
Anyone else who doesn’t tan easily like myself knows how to fake that effortless summer glow. My absolute favourite product for this that comes on every holiday with me is the Collection Bronze Glow Mosaic Powder. It gives the perfect natural tanned glow look for just £2.99!
One thing you definitely need is a good sun protection! Being pale skinned I normally go for a factor 30. Two of my favourite brands for sun protection are Piz Buin and Eucerin. Both Piz Buin and Eucerin are exceptionally good brands for people with sensitive skin. You don’t want to burn and look like a lobster on your nights out, so make sure you protect your skin.
I am forever applying lip balm when I’m on holiday as people often forget that your lips need protecting from the sun too. My favourite product to use is Dr Paw Paw Balm. The best thing about this product is that it has multi uses and can also be used on sunburn and skin irritations. It’s a win, win!
To keep your skin in tip top condition on holiday you definitely need a good body moisturiser. My current go to is The Body Shop Shea Body Butter but any hydrating body butter is perfect to keep your skin from getting too dry and preventing your skin from peeling. It’s not attractive but it happens if you don’t moisturise your skin.
Don’t forget to pack Books, Magazines, Bronzer, SPF, Lip Balm and a Moisturiser. Once you have all that you are ready and set to jet off on holiday! (You might want your passport too.)
