Deciding on an Instagram Theme

Deciding on an Instagram Theme

One of my Blogging goals for 2016 is to really up my Instagram game. After doing my 2015 Best Nine I realised that I absolutely hated the images I was uploading. They were poor quality and not very thought out in terms of placement. I can’t help but swoon over the Instagram’s of bloggers like  Milk Bubble Tea Blog & Lily Melrose but after posting onto Instagram for seven days I’ve realised just how hard it is to achieve an Instagram Theme.

I’ve literally been doing it for 7 days and I already want to give up! No matter what I do I feel like my images don’t flow and god help me if I want to take a selfie and the lighting isn’t right because then it definitely won’t fit in with my Instagram Theme. I feel like by having a ‘theme’ I have put myself in a very constrictive box that doesn’t give me much scope or options with my photography.

I still really want to stick to a theme for my photos but I guess I need to keep on going with my trial and error to find out what theme is ‘me’.

I love the white glossy products shots but if I can’t upload a damn selfie unless it’s in front of a white wall it proves difficult. I don’t know whether I am completely over analysing and trying too hard to fit into a theme I have set myself or whether it generally is the most difficult thing in the world!

So my question to you is, Do you have an Instagram Theme and if so, Do you find it easy or difficult to stick to?

I found it really hard too, especially at this time of year when the lighting is rubbish! I enjoyed how pretty it looked, but felt so restricted. I've kept my theme for certain types of images but broke through other images and I quite like it. Though I think I may start taking them on my camera as my iPhone camera is rubbish when I compare them! x

I don't have one and I don't think I could stick to one either! Themes look great and everything but I think it's going to be one of them 'fads' that all us bloggers try to get on board with – or at least that's what I'm telling myself because I struggle with it haha! Your pictures do look fantastic though!
