If there’s one thing I absolutely love in this world it is…. Shopping! You know when people ask you to imagine what you would do if you won the lottery? Well I know my answer and it is to shop until I drop. People always say to me ‘Oh you’d get bored of that though’ and my answer is always ‘No, No I wouldn’t’. If there’s one thing that I am truly good at it is spending money. Can I put that on my CV as a skill?
One of my favourite places to shop though is CARDIFF! The capital city of Wales! I am just drawn to city life and love that there is always something to do and something going on that you can get involved with. There are so many things to do in Cardiff that you literally couldn’t do it in a day. You probably wouldn’t even manage to visit all the shops in the town centre in one day… it’s that big! I much prefer spending a weekend there and really getting the full experience. One of my favourite places to stay at is the Travelodge. They are my favourite of all the budget hotels and I have grown up using them. They have plenty of choice in Cardiff as well so it’s easy to stay close to where your going.
On this particular trip to Cardiff I was on a mission! I had a shopping list and an ‘I want to treat myself’ attitude and nothing was going to stop me.
First stop was the ever so beautiful Mac Store as I have been lusting after Mac’s Velvet Teddy for so long and I was ready to take the plunge and invest in my second ever Mac lipstick and boy it did not disappoint! (Yes I know I’m very behind on the Mac Velvet Teddy trend)
I then dragged my boyfriend for a wander around Morgan’s Arcade where the Renate Store and Beauty Crowd store are both based. Both brands have been unbelievably amazing to the blogging community recently so I wanted to stick my head in the door and visit the stores for the first time.
I did make a cheeky purchase in Beauty Crowd and picked up an eyeshadow palette from the brand Freedom called Magic which contains 20 eyeshadows and it only cost me £6!! Bargain of the day!
We then had a stroll through the Cardiff outdoor markets where they sell everything from food to woodwork to vintage clothing. It’s a nice change from the hustle and bustle of the shopping centre.
It was then onto Primark where my boyfriend decided to sit this one out and have a break in Starbucks instead. I don’t blame him either because it was absolutely manic in there! I did manage to grab a few items I really wanted before getting too hot and bothered and leaving.
After the chaos of Primark I needed some refuelling and a sit down myself so we headed to Pizza Hut. I literally haven’t been there in forever but we were both craving something greasy and pizza seemed the perfect fit!
It was then a hurried dash back home to watch Wales VS Australia in the Rugby World Cup!
I’m already planning my next trip and stay over in Cardiff as I really want to see Shrek the Musical when it comes to the Wales Millennium Centre!
Have you visited Cardiff before? Where’s your favourite place to go for a long weekend away?
