On Sunday I travelled up to London with the gorgeous Charlotte from Rose Above the Thorns to attend Bloggers Fashion Week with The Bloggers Hangout (Formerly Bloggers Hub). It was my first ever blogging event so I was super nervous and I hadn’t actually met Charlotte before so the first time we met was on the National Express on the way to London. We chatted for a bit on the coach and then I couldn’t contain my tiredness any longer and ended up sleeping for most of the journey.
When we finally arrived in London we headed straight for our Hostel. There was lots of walking and tube taking involved and I was not prepared for so many stairs! By the time we got to the Hostel we were tired and hungry and headed to the nearest restaurant which just so happened to be Gourmet Burger Kitchen (yum!)
After food we headed on to Oxford Street where we mainly mooched and browsed and I bought the Cosmetic Warrior Face Mask from Lush. By the end of our walking and mooching our feet were sore so we headed back to the hostel and then freshened up and headed out across the bridge over to Bankside for some cheeky drinks. We ended up drinking champagne overlooking the Thames and I had an amazing evening and really got to know Charlotte better!
I think we rolled into the hostel at around midnight and went straight to bed. I was slightly awoken in the night by the loud chimes from St Pauls Cathedral but it’s so pretty I forgive it.
The next morning we got up bright and early getting ourselves ready for the Bloggers Fashion Week event. We had breakfast, wasted some time and then headed over to the OXO Tower in South Bank where the event was being held.
I wasn’t actually that nervous because I had Charlotte with me and I was super excited to see what the event was all about.
The room was gorgeous and was split up into two areas, the main area had the bar, seating, beauty & hair stations and the catwalk. The second room had the gifting area where brands were discussing their products and providing samples for the bloggers.
I was really pleased that Motel were there as they are a brand I have loved for years and I own a whole load of their dresses already. I spotted this cute number on their rail and I have to have it! Motel also gave us a killer goodie bag which included items from Too Faced, Pixi & Spectrum Brushes. I squeaked in delight when I saw the goody bag.
The amazing team from Great Lengths were there giving bloggers a hair makeover. Great Lengths were offering bloggers to trial their taped in hair extensions that come in a huge array of colours. I opted for some just a shade lighter than my natural colour to make it look like I had low lights. Other bloggers had coloured streaks put in their hair and they looked awesome! Great Lengths proved incredibly popular amongst the bloggers and the ladies applying the extensions didn’t get a break! Hats off to you two ladies you did an amazing job!!
Charlotte and I also met a gorgeous blogger named Carly who blogs over at Blog with Love and she also has a Youtube channel and she vlogged the event so go and check out her vlog here. I make my Youtube debut at 6.44 haha! Thanks Carly!
I was very lucky to have been one of the bloggers picked to receive a Halo Hair Extension. So a massive thanks to the Halo team and in particular to Aimee! I really can’t wait to try it out and there will be a review coming soon so keep your eyes peeled for that.
One of the brands I was really wowed by was Gallardo & Blaine. All the jewellery is handmade by Madeleine herself and the pieces are absolutely stunning. I fell head over heels for this gorgeous Leaf Ring in Moonstone. It’s on my Birthday wishlist ♥
Another jewellery piece that really caught my eye were these stunning Glass Cut Skull Necklaces by Nadia Minkoff. I love how dainty they were yet with the skull adding a gothic twist. This necklace is on my Christmas wishlist ♥
I had such a fantastic day and I can’t thank Danielle from The Bloggers Hangout enough for putting on such an incredible event!
All the brands I managed to get the chance to speak to were: Great Lengths, True Brit London, Fleur of England, Halo Hair Extensions, Little Ondine, Magnitone, Maison Ves, Motel, Sizers, Type the Hype, Boho Betty, Benefit Cosmetics, Bom Bom Bijoux, Gallardo & Blaine, Linzy Lous, Nadia Minkoff & Timeless Truth.
I will be reviewing products that I was gifted over the coming weeks so keep checking back for those.
