I’ve already been on a holiday abroad this year but haven’t been on a staycation in ages! A staycation is essentially a trip away somewhere in the country that you live. Think Money have challenged bloggers to come up with their ultimate staycation for the chance to win their dream trip this August Bank Holiday! So here is my entry into the competition:
If someone said to me here is £300, go and book yourself a UK break the first place I would want to go is….
The last time I was in London was for the Marathon in 2014. It was a hectic and busy trip and wasn’t really for doing typical ‘London’ trip things. The last time I was in London for a holiday was over 10 years ago!! So this time I would do things my way…
I would love to spend a long weekend in London with my boyfriend Gavin. I’d love to travel by train from Swansea to London on the Friday after work and arrive at our pre-booked Airbnb. I haven’t tried out Airbnb yet and think this would be the perfect opportunity to do so. Seeing as we would be going up after work I would want to get into our apartment and order a takeaway to just chill out and relax before the first full day in London.
Day 1 in London: Day 1 would more than likely start with leftover takeaway for breakfast before heading off out after a decent lie in. The ultimate dream would be to see a matinee show in the West End of either The Book of Mormon or Matilda. I’d then do some sightseeing and Instagram taking (of course) followed by an evening meal somewhere blogger recommended.
Day 2 in London: RETAIL THERAPY! Gavin would have his favourite job ever of bag holder whilst I dart and dash from shop to shop. I’d then treat him to lunch somewhere of his choosing so he doesn’t feel too left out. Followed by even more shopping.
Day 3 in London: The day of departure. Breakfast at Bill’s will be an absolute must on this day. My absolute favourite place to go for breakfast ever! Before a long sad train journey home because my whirlwind adventure in London will have ended.
As you can see I’ve put lots of thought and detail into my London trip and even if I don’t win this contest it’s definitely something I will save up to do either this year or next year.
Where would your dream staycation be? What would you get up to?
