‘ZOELLA’ ZOE SUGG GHOST WRITER DRAMA

Stop.. Wait.. What? You haven’t heard about the drama surrounding Zoe Sugg a.k.a Zoella using a ghostwriter for the novel ‘Girl Online’ No of course you have.. because it’s fucking everywhere!

So unless you have been hiding under a rock this past week the headlines in many papers have been surrounding Zoe Sugg and her use of a ghostwriter for her first novel ‘Girl Online’

To be honest I really don’t see this as breaking news. It seems blatantly obvious to me that Zoe would not be writing this alone. The girl has a serious schedule to up-keep and to throw writing a book into the mix, I highly doubt she could have juggled it. So of course, Zoe Sugg used a ghostwriter (Shock, Horror!) I really can’t believe that the media have gone into such a frenzy over it.

At the end of the day Zoe has a huge following and no matter what she brings out, it will sell out. This fame has certainly not happened over night and it is something she has had to put effort and work in to get where she is now.

Yes she now lives a very privileged life but companies and brands will put a lot of pressure on and use her as a marketing tool. At the end of the day ‘Zoella’ sells. What company or brand isn’t going to want a piece of this money maker, Penguin being no exception.

I genuinely don’t know how Zoe deals with some of the awful comments said about her and to see her face in the paper everyday with people moaning and groaning about whatever she is doing next. GET THE FUCK OVER IT! She is a young girl, living her life and making money along the way.

The latest news is that she is going to take a break from the internet and I don’t blame her.

I don’t really have much else to say on the matter. Whatever Zoe does next good luck to her. She has built herself up as a brand and uses it to make money. Wouldn’t you do the same?

Never judge a person or situation. I guess it's ok for one to be disappointed though. If I were genuinely interested in reading a book by Zoella, I'd likely want it to be written by Zoella. Otherwise it defeats the purpose. She's got a lot going on as you said. :] // ▲ itsCarmen.com ▲

I am with Sera, I have never heard about her personally, but it seems she can sell herself pretty good and makes good money out of it, nothing wrong with that, I would do the same, if I had a chance. And this publicity will make her sell her book even better, because now everyone wants to read That book. Lovely blog here btw! Would you like to follow each other on GFC? Please let me know on my blog so I can follow back. Thank you.

I completely agree with you! It's so unfair to target someone so young and she was so happy and excited about releasing her book 🙁 I hope it hasn't made her regret it. I think a lot of people do use ghostwriters- so what – the ideas were Zoe's!

While I agree with you I feel like she does need to write a bit more of an explanation about why she wasn't upfront about it. There's no shame in using a Ghost Writer and I think the people who are annoyed are just those who expected more and feel as if they have been misled and lied to. Personally, I think she should do a Pennisque Blog Post and just let everyone know whats happened with a small expination. All her fans are still fans and I still like her, but I feel she should have been more upfront about the Ghost Writing.

Enjoyed reading a few posts of your blog, thanks for leaving some comments on mine! Yours is a good find! I'll be adding it to my list of daily reads 🙂 Rhianne – Little Boots, redlittleboots.blogspot.co.uk
