A quick review of my experience swapping an item of clothing with another seller on Depop.
I added a few more items to my Depop account on Thursday morning and within a few hours someone had messaged me asking if I would like to swap an item with them.
I thought, why not, what do I have to lose? It’s a top I don’t want anymore anyway and I get to have a new item that I do want instead for the postage cost.
I chose a t-shirt top from New Look that the seller had in exchange for my spotted top from Topshop.
We then exchanged postal addresses and that was that.
I posted the item on Friday and then sat in once again waiting for Mr Postman to come a knocking.
I received a message off my swapper yesterday morning to let me know the top had arrived with her and she loved it.
My post normally arrives in the afternoon so I eagerly awaited for the knock at the door.
This is the top I received from the swapper:
I’m thrilled that this worked out so well. We both got our items on the same day and we were both happy with our swaps.
So for £1.17 postage I was out with the old and in with the new.
This swap idea though is purely based on trust. A little scary! As long as you make sure your swapper has good feedback and no negative comments then you can put your mind at rest a little. It’s not something I would recommend for expensive items but for an old top that your never going to wear again then it could pay off.
Has anyone downloaded Depop yet and uploaded items to sell? Or have you bought anything from the app? Let me know. I’d love to hear from you.
