HTML : Tips & Tricks for Begginers

HTML Tips & Tricks

I’m just going to run through some of the very basics that every blogger should know. I’ve been building websites since the age of 10 so I have some experience in the scary world of Html.

♥ When commenting on someone’s blog it seems to be the done thing to leave a link back to your own website. If you just write your site url in the comment box it will just show up as writing and not as a clickable link.
To make sure your link is active and clickable just insert the following code into the comment box after your message :

<a href=”http://yourwebsite.co.uk”>My Website</a>

Replace http://yourwebsite.co.uk with your website address & replace My Website with the title of your blog. Simples!

It should then look like this:

♥ Adding an image from an external site is easy too. Just insert the following code where you want the image to show up:

<img src=”http://websitelinktophoto.co.uk/image.png”>

Replace http://websitelinktophoto.co.uk/image.png to the website address where you are using the image from.

You should get something like this:

♥ You can make an image clickable and direct someone to your chosen website. This can be done by combining the two codes above to look like this:

<a href=”http://yourwebsite.co.uk”><img src=”http://websitelinktophoto.co.uk/image.png”></a>

Remember to change the website address and the image url to your chosen ones.

This will then look like this and people can click on the image to be directed to your website:

These are the very basics and are very handy to know if you are working on a programme that does not have functions to allow you to upload photos and just click the uploaded photo to link to somewhere.

Hope this has been of some help. I may do a series of these posts and get more advanced as I go along. Let me know what you think in the comments. If there is anything in particular you would like to learn how to do just message me ♥

    Ill definitely do a couple more basics html posts. Your link was missing the : symbol after http so the link doesn't work but the rest was perfect! 🙂
