I’m Neesha, 24 from Swansea, South Wales. Freshly unemployed and down on my luck.
Having had a number of jobs from the age of 18 ranging from Bar Work to Retail to Admin I thought I had finally found my calling within the world of Estate Agency. Unfortunately this was not the case and I was essentially fired from the role after a mere 3 months. I never thought I would be the ‘type’ of person to get fired. Well I did and it sucks!
It was back in May of this year that I was given the boot over my attitude problem and health issues. I was admit-ably unhappy in the job role but getting fired was a kick in the teeth! It’s not the first time I’ve heard the saying ‘attitude problem’ in relation to myself either, but it still hurts every time I hear it.
I had a holiday booked with my boyfriend in June and another booked in July with the girls. I decided to forget my problems and just enjoy those two weeks away before throwing myself into the world of JSA. That’s Job Seekers Allowance for anyone not from the UK. It’s part of our benefits system that pays money to those out of work and actively seeking employment. The thought of signing on felt particularly awful and I was treated like a complete idiot when I had to finally go to the Job Centre.
So this is the point I am up to now and I am trying to make ends meet any which way I can.
This is the start of what could be a long or short journey. Who knows where this new path will take me.
I would love to hear from anyone else that is currently in my situation right now!
